Treko Team Hiking Bags

There are many variations of a hiking bag. We all know that very prepared friend who sets off on a two-hour hike with a whistle, a tent, a satellite phone and three days' worth of food and has a sore back by the end of the day. On the contrary, another one steals our water because he forgot his! What goes in his bag is a bit of a matter of taste. To inspire you, here is what Carl, Anaïs and Émile from Treko bring with them on their hike!

Anaïs' hiking bag: Safety first!
After several years of backpacking under the Channel, Anaïs has finally accumulated a good emergency kit. In her hiking bag, we find, of course, a first aid kit, a whistle , a knife , a headlamp and an emergency satellite beacon .
"I got myself an emergency beacon to go to the Groulx Mountains in northern Quebec. Afterwards...as long as I had one...how could I convince myself not to bring it, just in case?"
-Anaïs
In addition to all that, don't forget snacks for the day, a 2L hydration pack, a raincoat, a little wool, an emergency pee kit, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, a knife and a bandana....just in case! Anaïs's bag has a capacity of 25L, and usually leaves well filled.
Carl's Hiking Bag: The Minimalist
For Carl, the most important thing is still the mosquito repellent. However, when he doesn't feel the need, he can even go without a backpack, a bottle of water in one hand and his dog's leash in the other. In the end, no need for hiking bags!
“You don’t need to be equipped like an astronaut to enjoy nature!”
-Carl
Émile's hiking bag: The contemplative kit
For Émile, the important thing is to take the time to enjoy nature! He never leaves without his hat and sunglasses , and in his bag, there are mainly snacks and water . Concerned about the environment, his food is always brought in a reusable container.
"The most important thing when hiking is to be in the present moment and to feel nature and the landscape"-Emile
