Leave no trace hiking, a basic principle in nature
How to Hike Irresponsibly
When you are in the woods, you have to disobey certain things in order to damage the landscape as much as possible. Because otherwise, the beautiful scenery will last over time. That is why the With Traces Principle exists.
It consists among other things of:
- Plan nothing and be in a rush
- Camping in a prohibited area
- Throw your trash anywhere
- Picking up branches, plants, etc. from the ground
- Make a huge fire to increase its impact
- Not respecting wildlife
- Not respecting other visitors
Leave No Trace Hiking: What to Do?
If you understood correctly, these are the things NOT TO DO in nature. So here is the real list of Leave No Trace Principles:
- Plan ahead and anticipate
- Use the appropriate surfaces
- Managing your waste responsibly
- Do not pick up or move anything
- Have minimal impact with your fire
- Leave the animals alone (especially do not give them food)
- Treat other road users with respect
